At the UIP education centre we designed a lighting system to work with a colourful ceiling of varying heights, creating a lively, stimulating environment for students. Recessed downlights were placed strategically across the different sections of the ceiling to bring out its shapes and colours, giving efficient, modern light. Through the rest of the building we used LED ceiling panels, whose even, low-consumption light keeps classrooms and shared areas practical and comfortable. The scheme provides the visibility that learning requires and adds a note of creativity and modernity, encouraging a positive, energising atmosphere within the centre.
