Private Residence 33

The lighting concept used here was one of general illumination. In a perimeter setting dominated by white, with points of impact such as the coloured furniture that draws the eye, the decision was taken to treat the lighting as a general layer. In the dining room a starlit-sky effect was used with stepped ceilings, to give the room more movement. It is set off by the Berna by Iris Cristal, a modern chandelier that lends this important space a great deal of elegance. In the study, a rather classic-modern effect was achieved with a black crystal chandelier chosen to sit with the other elements of the room — always working with the space, so that the lighting engages with the decoration without ever overpowering it. In the corridor, the movement of the ceiling was used again to create a kind of zigzag, together with recessed linear fittings, holding to something clean and practical. A project that balances a modern and a classical register perfectly.
